A very peaceful beach: Petoskey Michigan
On a trip to beautiful Petoskey Michigan to celebrate my birthday I scored an end of summer steal on this sheer skirt. I love how it makes me feel feminine and sexy all in one in a very subtle way. I can’t wait to figure out more ways to style it before summer dies down.

Today’s Thursday Treat: homemade hummus. Chickpeas are a staple in our home however, there is only enough salad and chickpeas one can eat after cooking a pot (well not really) in my opinion the next best thing to salad with chickpeas is homemade hummus it’s extremely healthy and filling two added benefits.
Roughly 2 cups of cooked chickpeas drained (or one can)
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons tahini
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice (from 1/2 lemon), plus more to taste
1 small clove of garlic, roughly chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper
Drain chickpeas and add to the food processor and combine all other ingredients blend all ingredients until smooth taste for preference adjust ingredients for your liking, the above ingredients are what I use, however I may add more lemon or salt.
For a creamer texture add two tablespoons of Greek yogurt unfortunately I didn’t have any this time around, but this will make it creamier.
Hope you give it a try!
Yet another simple in stripes look for the summer (well what is left of it). This no fuss shift dress can be worn to church, for dinner with friends, out with family, husband etc., it’s a no-brainer basically switch up the accessories to give it a different look and viola! Every women should own one.
Welcome to Baby Bea’s cupcake Garden Party!
Can we just take a minute and take in this magical whimsical sight and every little girls dream. This arrangement was even more breath taking in person and better yet those little cupcakes were bursting in flavor. I admit I had four! What do you expect from a nine month preggo lady ??
How gorgeous is her store front?
Who said cupcake decorating was only for kids? Not us! A special thanks to Dylans Candy store for allowing us to make memories, laughs and bringing us back to our childhood because at the end of the day ” Girls just want to have fun” !
Pick your colorful toppings!
I had to take a up and close personal picture of these cuties that caught my eye. I’m sure you agree with me, who doesn’t love ice cream especially in the petite size.
Taaaada!!! Decorated by yours truly!
As we were enjoying the fun, Two Peas Inc. catering company who is known for having Celeb-A listers clients was generous enough to cater the event. My favorite was the grilled salmon quinoa salad. It had grapes, almonds, salmon, quinoa, celery drizzled with a yogurt dressing. Here is their website go ahead and read all about this dynamic duo and if your in the LA area you will not be disappointed.
Meet the woman behind Charis Events Grace! She is known for details that will keep you in awe! Charis Events was behind the entire decor of the event how can you not appreciate those gorgeous big stunning floral arrangements on the wall? Anything eye catching can be found at Charis Events. I definitely recommended them if your in the LA area take a peek at their website or better yet their Instagram feed you won’t believe your eyes.
The lady behind the photography is Jen Renee. Jen is professional, sweet and willing to accommodate your every need which is what I look for when hiring a photographer and not to mention the images she captures make you feel that you are reliving the moment. For more pictures of the event visit Baby Bea’s Bakeshop Facebook page you will find a beautiful gallery of Jen’s work from the event.
And here is yours truly essentjewels!!!
These little ladys sat here the entire event, what was I thinking? I brought them along thinking I would wear them around for a bit, but there was no way this little 9 month preggo lady was about to suffocate her feet for a minute.
And the lady of the hour Beatrice! The sweetest lady you’ll ever meet. We have met in the past and loved each others energy when we first met, we knew we would collaborate in the future, but little did I know how fun, passionate and humble she is. It was a pleasure working with this gem. Not to mention she is a woman who loves to empower and bring other entrepreneur women together to inspire and celebrate each other.
If you are in the Beverly Hills area stop by and you will be whisked away to Parisian heaven, her attention to detail is out of this world but her baking is undeniably delicious and decadent. A special thank you to Beatrice and the Baby Bea’s Team.
